Ostrander is Closed...
Ostrander Creek made it on the news. Not for anything good. The creek flooded so bad, it brought with it lots of trees that stopped at the road. Then the water just went west through the mobile homes and over to Spencer's Trucking. It is truely a disaster area. We have to use the logging road to get out of Ostrander. We haven't had much trouble with our place. Just some minor leaks on the roof and Bob trenched the upper road to divert the water away from the edge. The foundation is dry, no trees went down and no slides happened. Our hearts go out to those who lost their homes. Below we were on Ostrander headed out, just under the train bridge.
This picture is Ostrander, headed East to our house.
This picture is of the mobiles on the left side of Ostrander. Between the 2 bridges.
The 100 year old rickity bridge that we have to take to get out. (It's not fun.)(I'm not really sure if it's 100, it just looks like it)
UPDATE: Monday morning, I woke up with the Sherriff's office calling. They told us that the original detour bridge washed out. (above) So now to get out we have to use the Weyhauser logging road up at the top of Ostrander, and head over to Headquarters Road. It now will take about an hour to get out!!

Oh Dear GOD! We have been wondering about you guys. Then I thought to check the blog and now I see. I knew it was bad up there...Thank God you guys are okay and you didn't have any serious damage. Take care. By the way, Paul is really into your blog now - he says you sure are a terrific blogger!!!
Wow Heather! you are sure fortunate you are up the hill rather than at the bottom! I have been logging on to KGW every night since we talked and I could see the picture you blogged. I hope your leaks are not too serious.
I saw some sweet pictures on your friend's blog. I saw three of my "Honey bunnies." It looked like they were enjoying themselves. And I have no doubt that you & Bob had a very nice "quiet" evening.
Although, I know it is not always so quiet with the two big puppies of yours. Much Love to you & yours.
